Description
a light of outerworldly beauty fills the entrance to standley chasm in australia's red centre. the place is famous for visiting at noon when the sunlight falls right through the narrow gorge. although i took lots of pictures between noon and mid afternoon in the gorge, this very image here that i took on the way out is my favorite: because the more subtle afternoon light on the walls of the gorge entrance lets them step back as a kind of backdrop for the two gum trees, allowing them - for a change - to be the 'stars in the lime light' with their magic glow...
